Underlying data
The Freizeitkarte maps "1/2026" are based on OpenStreetMap data from 2026/01/28. Thanks to all the mappers for their contribution to the OSM project.

The release "2/2026" is planned for May/June 2026.

Support / Forum
Due to time constraints, we are unable to provide individual support. However, there is a recreational map forum in the ‘geoclub’, where many map users and power users help with questions in addition to the Freizeitkarte developers. The forum is mainly in German, but please feel free to post your enquiry in English.

General
The Freizeitkarte maps always consist of two parts:

• the map data (*.map)
• the map design (theme, design)

Installation
For security reasons, each map app must include the maps in its data content:

• The map app offers the import (download) of a map as an internal function (e. g. OruxMap, Cruiser, c:geo).
• Action: The user selects the corresponding function within the map app.

• A link with control instructions is passed from the Android browser to the map app (e. g. OruxMap, Locus Map).
• Action: The user activates the corresponding link in the browser of their Android device.

Download
The download of a Freizeitkarte map or a theme is possible:

	direct to your personal computer (the map themes must also be loaded)
	directly to the Android app Locus Map (the map themes are included in every map)
	direct into the Android app OruxMaps (the map themes must also be loaded)

Hints

• When downloading into Locus Map or OruxMaps, a large amount of data will be loaded into your Android device.
• You start the download to Locus Map or OruxMaps by choosing the appropriate link in your Android browser.
